Six Flags Great Adventure Fright Fest

Fright Fest Happening Now through October 27th: Thrills by Day, Fright by Night

By Stacey Jones September 16, 2013
We were invited to visit Six Flags Great Adventure "Scream Park" for the opening of Fright Fest this past weekend. The event features family-friendly “thrills by day,” while an amped-up “fright by night” will deliver more scare zones, terror trails and haunted mazes plus nearly 200 zombies and a total of 25 Halloween-themed shows and attractions.

The return of the "Bloody Fountain" signals Fright Fest is back as you enter the park and every time you pass by while you roam the grounds.  Below, check out the great photo of the fountain running red and surrounded by the graveyard that was captured from atop the sky ride this past weekend.  They've definitely cranked up the scare factor on the nighttime events again this year and the zombies are out and about in full force to spook you.  For those of you with very young children or who scare easily, the wide variety of daytime events (prior to the 6 p.m. zombie Awakening ceremony) are geared towards fun and are not at all spooky.  You can't miss the Trick or Treat Trail where your kids can see their favorite Looney Tunes characters dressed up in costumes for Halloween while enjoying some great photo opportunities and receiving treats, too, as they go through the trail.

Six Flags Great Adventure’s Fright Fest features four new attractions including the daytime “Monster Maze” children’s corn maze and Doc Snooker’s Halloween Time Machine comedy show; plus the new “Total Darkness” blackout maze and Straw-Man Stalkers haunted corn maze during the nighttime hours.  Here's a full recap of what's in store for you when you visit Fright Fest this season:
