Six Flags Hurricane Harbor's Newly Updated Cabana Cove Bar & Grill

By Sponsored Content / Stacey Jones June 28, 2015
We were invited to check out the newly upgraded Cabana Cove Bar & Grill at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor.  Their culinary team is turning up the heat at this open-air kitchen with exciting new menu options featuring island-style jerk chicken, tri-tip steak sandwiches, juicy hot dogs, fresh salads and much more.

I personally tend to choose very healthy eating options, and I was very pleased with the Grilled Chicken Ceasar Salad and Fruit Cups at the Cabana Cove Bar & Grill. We enjoyed the grilled chicken ceasar salad very much.  Having
that cold, healthy fruit cup as a treat to snack on during a hot summer day of fun and adventure was an added bonus for the whole family.  We loved them!  The tri-tip steak sandwich was the perfect amount of spice on freshly prepared steak for a delicious lunch, and the juicy hot dog was really "foot long" and well prepared.   The whole family enjoyed our lunch at Cabana Cove Bar & Grill, and we had to stop back for dessert to enjoy the chocolate chip cookies and fudge brownies, too.  We were happy that the staff of Cabana Cove Bar & Grill kept the fruit, cookies, and brownies refrigerated and ready to serve fresh & cold so they were a delight to enjoy on a summer day.  Speaking of the staff, they were friendly, kind, and very helpful with the whole order process.  For those adults looking to enjoy an adult beverage, those are available, too!

After lunch, it was back to the water attractions throughout the park!  Taak It Ee Zee Creek, the lazy river, and Blue Lagoon, the wave pool, were repeat attractions for our family throughout the day.  A nice blend of excitement and relaxation made them the perfect fit for the whole family.

Similar to our last visit, the Big Wave Racer downhill was a huge hit.  We continually found ourselves racing one another down the exciting slides together at once.  Up to six people can slide down at the same time and race to the bottom belly first on their mats.  It is so much fun! We found the Tornado to be the most intense ride of the day for us and though the adults enjoyed this one, the kids weren't as fond of its speed and funnel style ending just quite yet.  The red and green tubes on the Boreaus, Eurus, Zephyrus and Nortus slides were the pick of the group for the most speed.  A new hands-down favorite this time for my family was the King Cobra!  Once you find the courage to slide through the snake's body and splash up into the face of the Giant Cobra, it's hard to turn back.  It was an exciting ride and great fun for us all.

You have plenty of water attractions, rated from Mild to Max on Hurricane Harbor's website, available throughout the park to keep you busy for the entire day. Check out our previous article from 2013 with some more of our thoughts about the water rides at Hurricane Harbor at this link.
