Phoenix Rising Star Academy Camp Phoenix: For Kids Who Love To Perform

Two sessions of three-week full-day and half-day sessions begin July 9th

By Stacey Jones March 11, 2018

Phoenix Rising Star Academy's Camp Phoenix is the summer camp of Phoenix Productions, most well-known for their Broadway caliber shows at the Count Basie Theatre. A number of their students have gone on to appear on Broadway and in national touring companies. This unique day camp experience is for kids who love to perform regardless of their level of experience or talent. The instructors take an individualized approach, offering each camper a chance to develop his or her talents and skills.

At Camp Phoenix, they specialize in creating “triple threat” performers who act, sing, and dance. Students are given instruction and fun in acting, singing and dancing courses, taught by the same people who create the big Broadway musicals Phoenix performs at the Count Basie Theatre.

The camp offers two sessions of three-week full-day and half-day sessions beginning July 9th. This year, the camp will feature and present “modestly full scale” productions of Disney's Aladdin, Jr and 13! The Musical. In these show tracks, campers will be cast, rehearse, and prepare the show for "opening night", just as Phoenix performers rehearse -- with the same artistic staffs and in the same studios.

Camp Phoenix runs Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. and is located at 59 Chestnut Street in Red Bank.
