Sesame Place: A Very Furry Christmas

Giveaway: Family Four Pack of Tickets

By Stacey Jones November 19, 2012
We were invited to join the celebration as "A Very Furry Christmas" opened on November 17th at Sesame Place.   It was a joyous, festive, and exciting day with our favorite Sesame Street friends.  With the holiday season upon us, Sesame Place offers a fun way to celebrate the winter season with your family.

During “A Very Furry Christmas”, a one-of-a-kind family-friendly celebration, the park is transformed into a winter wonderland filled with lights, trees, shows, music, treats, rides and Santa Claus!  It runs over twenty days including daily access from December 26th through December 31st . The full operating schedule is available on the calendar here.

New this year is the Sesame Place Furry Express, a brand new trackless train ride.  The train takes guests on a tour through the Twiddlebugs’ Gingerbread Cookie Factory and ends the journey with samples of their famous gingerbread treats. The line did build quickly for this attraction, so I recommend heading there early in your visit.  The train ride was cute and had narration to tell the story of the work at the cookie factory by the Twiddlebugs. It even included some rider interaction.  The train conductor for our tour was very friendly and upbeat!

A 25-foot Christmas Tree lights up the night in sync with Sesame Street holiday tunes, three Christmas shows, a great selection of wintertime treats and Christmas sweets, and awesome holiday shopping at the park’s two gift shops.

"A Sesame Street Christmas Show" at Abby's Paradise Theater was filled with singing, dancing, and drove home the importance of family both at Christmas and throughout the year.  It was very sweet and the kids got a kick out of the characters stepping up to the audience and reaching for the kids hands in the first few rows during part of the show.

The Neighborhood Street Party Christmas Parade enhanced the show from the summer with holiday additions to the floats along with special holiday dances and tunes.  The kids were especially fascinated by trying to figure out how it was snowing on some parts of Sesame Street but not snowing on others.

Santa Claus will also visit the park each evening to hear Christmas wishes and pose for photos at Santa’s Workshop, where kids and adults alike will enjoy talking with a cheerful interactive snowman before being greeted by joyful elf attendants.

A Very Furry Christmas will also feature exciting special events, including concerts and character meet and greets.  Sesame Place will also celebrate New Year’s Eve with fireworks set to Sesame Street themed music.

Admission tickets for A Very Furry Christmas are $21.99 and include a free second visit. Save $5 on your single day admission tickets from now through December 31, 2012.  Guests with Season Passes are able to upgrade to include unlimited admission to all 20 operating days of a Very Furry Christmas and a 30% discount on food and merchandise for $14.99.
